About dYdX Operations Trust
With the recent launch of dYdX Chain - a fully decentralized and open-sourced version of the dYdX protocol - it is crucial for the dYdX community to actively engage in promoting the growth and expansion of the dYdX DAO. The dYdX Operations subDAO is the second dYdX subDAO, first established through an on-chain proposal that passed on December 18th, 2022. In 2023, the subDAO was granted a further $6.6m in funding by the dYdX community to provide crucial infrastructure for the dYdX Chain. The dYdX Operations Trust is established in Guernsey as a ‘non-charitable special purpose trust’ & has since hired four contributors and incorporated an additional Cayman exempted company.

The dYdX Operations subDAO is the second dYdX subDAO, established through an on-chain proposal passed on December 18, 2022. In 2023, the subDAO was granted a further $6.6m in funding by the dYdX community to provide crucial infrastructure for the dYdX Chain.
At dYdX Operations Services Ltd. (“DOS”), we are looking to expand our dynamic team with a full-time, remote Legal Counsel. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of key projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a broad range of risk-weighted legal advice, including corporate, commercial, regulatory, employment, product, intellectual property, privacy and dispute resolution.
- Assist with ongoing regulatory and compliance strategy and obligations.
- Draft and review legal memorandums, agreements, policies and procedures.
- Develop internal legal processes and cross-functional collaboration.
- Conduct legal research and stay up to date with the digital assets regulatory landscape and advise DOS with respect to such updates, especially regulatory developments relevant to DOS’s operations.
- Lead internal knowledge sharing in relevant legal and regulatory areas, including digital assets, anti-money laundering, and commercial and corporate matters.
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal practice experience, either at a law firm, in-house or regulatory agency.
- Relevant legal experience in corporate and commercial law, financial markets regulations and fintech.
- Be well-versed in cross-jurisdictional regulatory considerations (especially financial and digital assets regulations).
- A strong interest and ability to apply established legal principles to digital assets.
- Team player who is also able to work independently.
